Final Day of Black & White Blog Hop

Well, this is the final day of the Black & White Blog Hop.
Have you followed along each day?
If you have you have seen spectacular creations by a number of very talented people.

I want to thank all of you who visited my post HERE yesterday. I am sorry about the posting glitch that, perhaps, made you wait until 10 AM EST to view it.

I was thrilled to have so many wonderful comments about my quilt. I worked on the pattern for this quilt last night. By the end of the weekend, I plan to have the pattern written. It really is an easy sewing project. Look for my post on Monday morning because I can't figure out a name for this pattern and I'm going to have a naming giveaway! So get your thinking caps on for a great name that you think would be just right. And thank you, again, for visiting my blog.

Here is the complete list of blog links to the Black & White Blog Hop, just in casse you missed some.

My Black and White Blog Hop Post

There won't be much color on my blog today.
Black and White is the Blog Hop theme.
Have you been following along from the posts on Monday?
The projects are GREAT! Such VARIETY!
Carla who blogs at Creatin' in the Sticks
put together a fun blog hop.
Thanks, Carla, for all your work and organizing.

Here is my completed quilt!

And what better place to take this photo than in the snow we got this past Saturday!

I used a very busy fabric for the backing.

I posted about my fabric stash and using the Accuquilt Go! to cut the triangles HERE.
I liked cutting the triangles so quickly.

I quilted it on my sewing machine using the walking foot.
I find that the easiest for me.

I am glad you stopped and hope you visit the other bloggers' posts today.
Perhaps you will find an idea to use black and white fabrics in a quilt very soon.
There is a Pinterest page for the Black & White Blog Hop HERE
where you can see all the projects (posted so far) and very few words.

Upcoming Blog Hops

I am participating in two upcoming blog hops.

Black & White in January
and

Dust of a Quilt Book in February

I am busy working on the projects.

Black & White (hosted by Carla of Creatin' in the Sticks) starts on January 21. I have a woven basket filled with black and white printed fabrics I have collected over many years.

When I saw Carla's post asking for participants, I knew this was the time to dig into that basket! I wanted to start using my AccuQuilt dies more and thought this was a good place to start. I choose the Go! Triangle die #55002  for this project. It is designed for 6" quarter squares, but I chose to sew two triangles into 4" half triangle squares.

Cutting the triangles with the GO! Fabric Cutter was so quick! I had 160 triangles cut in no time. But I still have lots of black and white fabric in the basket!

This is where I will leave you until I reveal my project on the Black & White Blog Hop. I've added some more interest to the quilt. (We're waiting on the final schedule before posting; but my day is tentatively set for January 23.)

I have a left-over project I made with the black and white scraps. MUG RUGS, of course!

The mug rug on the left is finished. The other two need the binding and I hand sew it to the back while "watching TV" in the evenings.

The Dust Off a Quilt Book blog hop is hosted by Bea of Beaquilter. The idea is to make a project from an old quilting book or magazine that we have never made a project from, or one we haven't gotten back to in years! I chose one off my books that has a publication year of 1977-one year after I started quilting! Yep, it's been a long love of mine!

This book was on the freebie table at the quilt guild meeting quite a few years back, I liked the nostalgia of the patterns. I won't tell you what my project is just yet, but I am using some of the Island Batiks I have left from when I was an Island Batik Ambassador. That will be one twist in the pattern. My scheduled post day is February 20.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope to have you visit during the blog hops.
